Household Hazardous Waste
Latex Paints and Stains may be solidified and placed in your trash bin. To solidify latex paint and stain; remove the lid, fill with cat litter, leave the lid off until the liquid solidifies. Once solid with no liquid, the contents are not considered hazardous and can be disposed of with regular trash collection.
Paints and Stains may be disposed of during Household Hazardous Waste Collection events. For notification of events, Signup for the Keep Nassau Beautiful newsletter, www.keepnassaubeautiful.org.
In addition, Latex Paint Cans can be dropped off free of charge at the Callahan Convenience Recycling Center, located at 46026 Landfill Road, Callahan, FL 32011. This service is available exclusively to Nassau County residents. Please note that items from rental property or foreclosure clean-outs are not accepted.
