Saturday, August 28, 9am – 11am, join us to help maintain a very important pollinator garden.  We will be weeding, pruning and removing invasive plants in a small section of County property along the Amelia River to Sea Trail near the intersection of Simmons Road and 1st St. (Use 102 Ocean Ridge Drive for GPS location)   Look for the Volunteer Crew signs and park along the Simmons Road berm.
This event qualifies for Community Service hours for students, youth and adults.  A site captain from the Florida Native Plant Society, IXIA Chapter will be on-site to provide education on the plants to be hand-weeded or removed.
You may want to wear closed-toe shoes.  Bring your gloves, a reusable water bottle, sunscreen and bug spray if desired.  If you have a small trowel or other tool you like to use for weeding, be sure to bring it.
