Volunteer – Community Cleanup

Event Details

Goats on the Go has been working diligently to clear invasive and nuisance vines and underbrush from a City conservation land parcel located on the corner of 11th St., behind the Nassau County School Board Building, exposing an overwhelming amount of trash.   Join the City of Fernandina Beach and Keep Nassau Beautiful for a series of community clean-ups.

When:  Wedn, Nov. 27, 9 am – 10:30 am

Address:  N. 11th and Broome St, behind the School Board building.

We will be cutting the stripped vines that the goats have left behind around the perimeter.   If you have your own clippers/loppers/trimmers, please bring them.

Ashley Chandler from the News Leader will be with us as she’s preparing an article on invasives.

Bring gloves if you have them (there will be a supply on site as well) and wear long pants and full shoes / boots as thorny vines may tug on you.  Personal drinking water in a reusable container is also recommended.

We will provide trash grabbers, disposable gloves, and bags.

Registration is not required but helps us bring the right quantity of supplies:  REGISTER HERE TO VOLUNTEER
