Electronic Waste

Electronic items should not be placed in household trash, as they often contain hazardous materials. Batteries must be removed and disposed of separately. Both batteries and electronic waste can be safely disposed of during Nassau County’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events. To stay informed about upcoming events, sign up for the Keep Nassau Beautiful newsletter at www.keepnassaubeautiful.org.

Approved electronic waste may also be dropped off at the Callahan Convenience Recycling Center, 46026 Landfill Road, Callahan, FL 32011. This service is free for Nassau County residents. Rental property and foreclosure clean-outs are not accepted.

Electronics in good working condition may be accepted by local donation centers or thrift stores. Call ahead to confirm acceptance and pickup availability.

Nassau County residents should contact their waste service provider (Meridian Waste or Waste Management) to confirm what electronic items are accepted and whether special pickup is needed. Fernandina Beach residents should arrange pickup for any trash over 3 cubic yards.
