Our Speaker, Cheryl Wilson. Cheryl’s career was in research, so when she began finding fossils that weren’t in any reference books, she immediately turned to science to determine what they were. It took 4 years to get them identified and recorded in UF’s fossil database, and she now displays them at Fernandina Fossils, a fossil information center she established in downtown Fernandina Beach, Florida. Fernandina Fossils has exhibits of local fossils, information and reference materials, activities for kids, fossil-focused eco tours, fossil hunting gear, a gift shop with fossils and fossil products made by local artists, free ID services and educational sessions.
