Volunteer – Community Cleanup (with the Goats!)
Goats on the Go has been working diligently to clear invasive and nuisance vines and underbrush from a City conservation land parcel located on the corner of 11th St., behind the Nassau County School Board Building for the past 2 weeks, exposing an overwhelming amount of trash. Join the City of Fernandina Beach and Keep Nassau Beautiful for the first of a series of community clean-ups this Saturday, November 16, from 9am – 11am.
Address: 0 N. 11th St. Meet AND park along the dirt road behind the School Board building near the large pavilion.
Bring gloves if you have them (there will be a supply on site as well) and wear long pants and full shoes / boots as thorny vines may tug on you. Personal drinking water in a reusable container is also recommended.
If you have a shovel for extracting debris, please bring it. We will provide trash grabbers, disposable gloves, and bags.
Goats on the Go personnel will be on site to provide information on and an introduction to the hard-working goats! There will be a “name the goat” contest that morning as some of the goats are still without names.
